I am the biggest dog lover ever.  Bold statement?…Yes.  But as those who know me will attest, most of my social life revolves around my dog.  My mother does not believe that this bodes well for my dating life and is consequently putting the finishing touches on her plot to steal someone else’s grandkids.

I am originally from Ohio and went to Ohio University for undergrad.  Afterwards I spent a few years wandering around Missouri, Alaska, California, and now..happily… Texas.  I  I earned my MBA from UT in 2008. Hook ‘em.

My top 10 favorite things about Austin are:

1. The bats under the Congress St. Bridge.  I was a bat keeper for a year.  I love bats.
2. Town Lake (I know it has a new name.  It will remain Town Lake to me.)
3. The coffee shops on S. First and Congress St.
4. The greenbelts
5. Guerros, Magnolia, Kerbey Lane (ok..anywhere that sells queso)
6. Goldfish crackers (I realize that I can get them outside of Austin, but they are my favorite food so I feel like they should be on this list)
7. The outdoor artsy shop thing that’s on S. Congress on Saturdays and Sundays
8. EcoWise (go here…this place rocks)
9. Barton Springs (specifically the native salamanders living there that I spend a majority of the summer searching for with my snorkel and flippers)
10. All the awesome people that are going to email Abby Loves Dogs

I drive a VW bug named Court.  She’s covered in flower stickers and actually has a personality.  She went through a hail storm when she was still at the dealer and ever since, pops open her trunk and turns on her horn when she’s outside during a storm.  It’s post-traumatic stress disorder for cars.  Tough break, that one.

So…here’s the bottom line, y’all.  I took the scenic route to starting Abby Loves Dogs, but it’s what I’ve always wanted to do.  I flirted with the corporate world…we dated for a while…broke up…and now we hate each other.    But, everything happens for a reason and I couldn’t be happier about the opportunity to help your dog live a happier, healthier life!
